All students and staff belong to a House when they start College and remain in the same House throughout their journey at St Peter’s. Family members are in the same House as each other and where relevant, the same House as their father.
The main focus of House system is to provide a "home" for every student – a place where they can access the support and guidance of teachers and their peers.
Houses receive points for various activities such as Athletics Day, sports fixtures, debates, Ready Steady Cook, and academic quizzes to name a few. Fierce (friendly!) rivalry exists between the Houses and this shows particularly at Athletics Day where the (very practiced) House Chants all but drown each other out!
Points are also awarded on a daily basis for behaviour and effort and also things such as consideration of others. House points can be also deducted for poor behaviour such as lateness.
Overall, there is tremendous competition between the Houses and a leader board is mounted on the wall of the Administration Block showing current House points. The Boris Srhoj shield is awarded to the House of the Week. At the end of the year the Monsignor Bradley Cup is awarded to the House with the most points at the Annual Prize Giving ceremony.
