Cancellations
Cancellations are rare, especially for Football and Rugby. NEVER ASSUME a cancellation, regardless of weather conditions. Wait until you have confirmation.
Cancellations are broadcast on Newstalk ZB (89.4FM or 1080AM) at 7.05am, 7.35am and 8.05am on the morning of the game. Your Team Manager will let you know your Sport's specific wording.
School-managed events, ie Swimming Sports or Sports Exchanges, will be cancelled by 9.00am on the day of the event. Boys will be notified in their classes.
St Peter's College teams DO NOT default any game to any opposition. Students are committed to the sport they enter into for the entire season. This includes both Term 1 & 4 for Cricket and Tennis.
If your son is unable to play/attend game please notify coach or manager as soon as practicable.
Coaching & Managing
St Peter's is keen to have parents involved in coaching and managing teams. We currently have many St Peter's Old Boys and parents assisting in coaching and managing our teams. Due to teaching commitments, we cannot have all teams coached and managed by teachers at Zone Days and Sports Exchanges. One-off offers of assistance are appreciated for our Central Zone and Sports Exchanges Teams.
Please contact Mark Wilson if you are interested in coaching and/or managing a team for a season and/or providing assistance at Zone Days and Sports Exchanges.

Regular Weekly Sports Teams
During the year we offer Saturday competitive sports for Cricket, Football and Rugby. These sports play in the regular Auckland competitions. Many other sports are offered as detailed on the side menu to your right.
For each of these sports we are aligned with Auckland Clubs. This means that we trial and play as a St Peter's Team, but pay our affiliation fees to these Clubs to enable us to enter into the age group competitions for these sports. SPC teams wear SPC uniforms.
The Clubs are:
| Cricket: |
Cornwall Cricket Club |
| Football: |
Central United Football Club and |
| Rugby |
Marist Rugby Club |
Contact details will be provided to the Team Manager and Coach. These will include name, home phone, mobile, email address and any medical conditions. When SPC staff contact details are provided, they are to be utilised for sporting contact only. Any other contact should be made through the relevant school channels.

Costs
Many school sports have associated costs such as Club affiliation, uniform rental, tournament fee or travel costs. Notification of the costs will be given at the start of the season or the tournament.
Some costs are one-off, eg travel to a zone or interschool event. These costs are notified to you by a school notice handed out to team members directly prior to the event and payment should be made via cheque or cash to the Middle School Office. Payment should be in an envelope clearly marked with the sport and the student's name.
To view particular sports costs refer to specific sport tab.
Information re Draws & Results
Sports Draws and Results for all regular teams (not including Sports Exchanges/Central Zone) are placed on the Sports' Notice Board on the side of the Administration Block. They are also posted on the school website on a weekly basis, under the Sport page or click on the link below:
SPC Sports Draws SPC Sports Results
Please check the draw the day before your game in case there has been a late change.
For all Central and Inter Zone sports dates please refer to the Middle School Sports Calendar page.
Injury & Sickness
Medical conditions affecting sport should be notified to the Coach or Manager so appropriate precautions can be taken. Coaches or Managers are not to be expected to dispense medication.
If your son is sick or injured and cannot attend a practice or game, you need to contact the school and get a message to your Coach or Manager prior to the training or game commencing.
If your son is injured during practice or a game and has to go to hospital or an accident and emergency centre, please make contact with the school. It is very important that the school is made aware of any serious injury. You will be notified directly should an accident occur when you are not attending a game. There is a medical stand down period for concussion which must be made known to the coaching staff.
Joining a School Team - Expressions of Interest Form
If your son is keen on finding out more about any SPC sport, then he should complete the 'Expressions of Interest Form' attached to the Middle School Sports Booklet. It is completed at the start of the year. By indicating an interest we will be able to get information to parents via email regarding registration and trials. There is further relevant material under each sport code.
If further details are required, please consult the teacher-in-charge of the particular sporting code and please cc Matt Skeen mskeen@st-peters.school.nz
Boys will also need to listen to notices at assembly, visit Sports' Notice Boards and attend relevant meetings. Boys need to return forms by the requried date as indicated on the form.
Sports Prize Giving
An annual Year 7 - 10 Junior Sports Prize Giving is held at school in the last week of Term 4. Certificates are awarded for Captain, Most Improved and Most Valuable Player. There are a number of cups presented for Oustanding Sporting Achievements. The Team Coach nominates recipients. (Senior representative sports teams are recognised at a separate Sports Dinner held early in Term 4).
Sponsorship
If a company you are associated with would like to be involved in sponsoring a team, please contact the Director of Sport, Mr Mark Wilson, to discuss possible sponsorship packages.

Sports Uniform
Most Year 7 & 8 sports teams wear the SPC sports uniform for the Central Zone and Sports Exchange teams. Some sports require specialist clothing and details will be given to the team members.
Check with your Coach or the Teacher-in-Charge for the requirements for your team. All SPC sports uniforms can be purchased from Edmund's Shop (the SPC Unifrom and Stationery Shop) at school. All players should ensure they are wearing the correct sporting uniform when representing SPC.
For practices, students are to wear appropriate clothing - formal school uniform should not be worn for practices. Students should change into their school uniform to travel home after practice.
All sports uniforms can be purchased from Edmund's Shop.

Year 7 & 8 Sports Exchanges
There are 15 Middle School Sports Exchanges during the year in which we play against Sacred Heart College, Kings, Dilworth and St Kentigerns.
The teams are trialed at the beginning of Terms 1 and 2 and the same team is generally kept for the duration of the season.
| Summer: Terms 1 & 4 |
Cricket, Softball, Tennis and Touch |
| Winter: Term 2 & 3 |
Basketball, Football, Hockey and Rugby |
Boys are only allowed to play one exchange sport in the summer and one in the winter. These games are usually played home and away. All games start between 1.15pm and 1.30pm approximately and boys are back at school by the end of the day.
Refer to the Middle School Sports Calendars for all exchanges, Central Zone and Inter Zone fixtures.
Central Zone & Inter Zone
The Central Zone competition is for schools in the Central Area. There are a variety of sports played during the year and the Year 7s & 8s attend the majority of them. Teams are generally picked from the Sports Exchange Teams. Winning a Central Zone Competition Day results in the team attending the Auckland 'Champion of Champion' or Inter Zone Championship.
Refer to the Middle School Sports Calendars for all exchanges, Central Zone and Inter Zone fixtures.
