The building next to the Middle School
(to the right in the photo) is the Br W R Smith Performing
Arts Centre . This was built in 1997, and houses a small
auditorium, a music classroom, as well as state-of the-art educational
facilities. The Performing Arts Centre also houses several sound-rooms
for individual recording and practice. The Performing Arts faculty
caters for a wide range of instruments and abilities, from flute
to french horn, from piano to percussion. The Performing Arts faculty
has also produced a number of productions, such as Godspell, Jesus
Christ Superstar, Little Shop of Horrors
The upgraded science building - Br
J B Lynch Science
Laboratories - is
one of the more visible buildings of the College. This is the building that is
easily seen from the Southern Motorway. This houses Biology, Physics and Chemistry
laboratories, and state-of-the-art equipment such as an electronic ventilation
system for the chemistry gas cupboard, mains gas supplies, and modern safety systems
to ensure maximum safety in the laboratory. Br W R Smith
The centre building is
the Edmund Rice Library, with the English faculty
above. This building replaced the old library in 1995 with a state-of-the-art
facility. The Edmund Rice Library was one of the earlier of Auckland
school libraries to adopt a computer issue and catalogue system.
The library occupies a large area and is stocked with over 10,000
books for student research and recreation. The library also features
Internet access stations, and the Encyclopedia Britannica on CD.

Mass is held in the School
Chapel every Friday at lunchtime and all students are invited to
attend. The chapel is open to all for prayer and guidance throughout
the day. The Chapel is located in the centre of the College buildings.
Mass is celebrated by the chaplain of the school and by other visiting
priests.

The Br P O'Driscoll building houses Administration
and senior staff offices. This is the original school building,
opened in 1939, and is now the centre for the administration and
management of the school. There are several classrooms upstairs
which are more ideal for one-on-one tuition

The Br L H Wilkes Technology Building was opened
in 2001. This facility houses an Information Technology classroom,
a well-equipped Food Technology room, Biotechnology facilities,
an Electronics & Control Technology room, a Design & Research
facility featuring a third computer suite, and an extensive and
high-tech Materials workshop.
