St Peter's College Sports Code of Conduct

Show respect to:

 

1. Your opponents by:

 

•  greeting them
•  welcoming them (if it is our home game)
•  playing fair at all times
•  NOT indulging in dirty or underhand tactics
•  NOT retaliating, despite any provocation
•  NOT making offensive remarks, sledging etc

 

2. The spectators by:

 

•  not replying to sideline comments, no matter how
•  provocative they might be
•  not showing off
•  not swearing or spitting

 

3. The officials by:

 

•  accepting without question any decisions made – only  

    the captain may query, and then politely

•  greeting officials before the start of the game
•  thanking them at the end of the event

•  not making derogatory comments to or about the official

    even if you do not agree with the decision made

  

4. Your team by:

 

•  arriving at the venue by the time required by the coach
•  being in the correct gear, and neat and tidy
•  going through the match preparation with enthusiasm
•  playing to your best throughout the game

•  carrying out the coach's game plan to the

   best of your ability

 
 
•  attending all practices

 

5. Your school by:

 

•  representing it with spirit, pride and commitment

•  NOT doing anything before, during, or after the match 

   that would bring the good name of the school into

   disrepute

•  accepting victory with humility and defeat with dignity
