Mission Statement
To
deliver a high standard of technology education through quality
teaching, using up-to-date schemes and resources, with an overall
commitment to the needs of the students that we teach.
Faculty
Overview
The
technology faculty at St Peters College covers a wide range of technologies
such as Graphics, Information, Food, Material, Electronics and Control
Technology. These are all taught in the new Technology Building
that is sited next to the southern motorway.
Technology
is taught from Y7 to Y9 where students rotate through several different
areas of technology. At year 10, students can choose a technological
area to specialize in, in preparation for Year 11; the technological
area they choose will be taken for the entire year. Year 11 to 13
offers the opportunity for students to complete NCEA qualifications.
Achievement standards are completed in Graphics and Information
Technology. Unit Standard courses are offered in both Carpentry
and Hospitality.
Faculty
Aims
.
To encourage a culture of responsibility for boys' own learning
by implementing best practice for their technological education.
.
strengthen in the development of students the importance of self-respect
so that all students can achieve to their full potential.
.
To inspire and develop leadership within individual classes.
