Special
relationship with International Students
St Peter's has well established links with a number
of schools in Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China,
Vietnam and Thailand. Students come from a wide variety of countries
and the College welcomes a mix of backgrounds. Only 60-70 students,
in total, are accepted from outside New Zealand and no single country
is permitted to dominate the international students group.
The College has a dedicated International Centre. Three full time
teachers specialize in teaching international students English.
St Peter’s College has catered for International Students
for more than Twelve years and has had considerable success with them.
Student pastoral care
All students are catered for in their forms and
the Deans of each form take a particular interest in international
students at their form level. The Director of International Students
and the Dean of International Students keep in close contact with
all students.

Accommodation
Homestays
are the preferred option at St Peter’s. There are many families
from the St Peter's Catholic community who welcome international
students. Most are Catholic families, usually with boys attending
the College with whom students can readily relate. Homestay costs
are currently NZ$230 per week plus NZ$230 placement fee.
Music Academy & Sports
A wide range of sporting activities is provided,
covering a number of codes. Music is very strong in the College
and excellent opportunities are available for learning instruments,
with free tuition, and performance.
Fees
Annual
Tuition fees are NZ$12000 plus GST, totalling NZ$13500 and reviewed
on an annual basis. This fee covers tuition and text books but excludes
public examination entry fees and personal stationery requirements.
There is also a NZ$500 administration fee.
Applications
Applications should be addressed to the Director
of International Students and should include proof of age, last
school report and Student Visa application. Application forms are
available for downloading from this website.
Location
The College is located in a central position in
Auckland city, close to bus routes and rail services.

Recommendations
Students planning to study at university are encouraged
to enrol at St Peter’s for a minimum of two years to improve
their confidence in English. Applications will be accepted for Year
13 only if suited to the student and the College.
Medical and Travel Insurance
All students
are required to have full medical and travel insurance. This is
available from the College (NZ$460). If insurance is arranged elsewhere
proof of insurance must be produced.
Guardian
All students must have a guardian in New Zealand, who will
take responsibility for the student and look after their visa, their travel, their
health and other aspects which parents normally manage. Guardians can be arranged
by the Director of International Students for an annual fee of NZ$3000.
