Performing Arts
The annual St Peter’s College Production has become a true highlight on the College Calendar. Each year the production is staged in a real working theatre such as The Centennial Theatre, Q Theatre and this year, for the third consecutive year, the Glen Eden Playhouse – giving both the students and audiences a quality theatre experience. The students involved gain considerable experience both on stage, back stage, playing in the band/orchestra, as well as working sound and lighting. Through their experience in the production, the students have the honour of working with many professionals who are hired to train them in the multi-faceted, rich cultural and immersive experience that is a school production.
Our talented boys get to work with the talented girls from our partnering school Marist College.
Upward of 150 students, teachers and parents get involved in each show. Many of these return as they succumb to the addiction of working in theatre and they inevitably ‘catch the show bug.’
In recent years we have staged Grease, Chess and Jesus Christ Superstar.
